The Hindu : Front Page : 300% pay hike for President
The salary of President of India has been increased from Rs. 50000 to Rs. 1.50 lakhs.
The salary of Vice President of India has been increased from Rs. 40000 to Rs. 1.25 lakhs.
The salary of Governor of a State has been increased from Rs. 36000 to Rs. 1. 10 lakhs.
The changes would be effective from January 2006.
The decision has been taken by Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA).
