Before Aarvind Adiga, four Booker Prize winners had been writers of India origin. They were
Now after Aarvind Adiga, the score is five Bookers to India Originated writers.
However, After Arundhati Roy, he is the second writer to get Bookers on his début novel.
Secondly, along with him another Indian, Amitav Ghosh with his Sea of Poppies was also nominated.
Thirdly, the people who were finally shortlisted were Steve Toltz, Philip Hensher, Sebastian Barry, Amitav Ghosh, Linda Grant and Aarving Adiga.
