Maintenance of Parents and Senior Citizens Act.

The act suggested in the report is one of the social security measure being arranged by the government and here it is being done by a state government. It is also referred there that similar acts has been passed by other states also.
The candidates must understand that it is related to demographic changes which are taking place in India. Presently, India is a young nation. However, Demographic profile is going to change fast and such acts have relevance for future. Similarly, the act in itself is a social security measure which is being taken by government. Therefore, it should be given due attention in the notes.
